CATCHING LUCIFER'S LUNCH is available in this month's Diamond Previews, Page 326 offered by SUMM Publications. It ships in May. We added an incentive to the deal...We are going to give retailers one free copy for every two that they buy. This will lower you price per unit cost, and increase your profit margin. You can't go wrong!

Check CLL out at www.summ.net/cll.html

I did all the artwork in this book: watercolors, letters, lay-out, etc... My brother T.J. wrote it. I figure people can print this web page out and bring it down to a local comic shop and at least inquire about the book in hopes that the retailer will pick it up. Especially with the buy two get one free incentive. It's gettig close to the deadline for this month to order and we're hoping with the support of all of our fans, friends and family, maybe, just maybe we'll make Diamonds top 50 for Graphic Novels. You can order this book in many countries even outside US/Canada and Europe.

Thanks for your support

Jason

:: SUMM.net OUTAGE ::

Currently, www.joker.com is down. This is the site that we run out domain through. Catching Lucifer's Lunch came out yesterday in Diamond Previews and now no one can access my websites. This seems to always happen somehow around important events like shows, releases and signings. I begining to think that a higher cyber power does not want SUMM Publications to thrive....

Should you be able to visit www.joker.com, please notify me immediatly so I can figure out what's going on.

:: CLL Diamond Previews TODAY! ::

I called up my local comic shop, The Incredible Pulp, today and talked to Glen (the owner) and was happy to hear he'd be picking up a bunch of my book Catching Lucifer's Lunch. It came out in Diamond Previews today on page 326. Retailer can now place their orders. so, make sure you let your shop know they should pick up my book. It's actually really good.

Sounds like I'll be in San Diego this year at a booth. So stop on by and bring a book to get signed. I may even have a few with me. So... you can risk and try and pick one up at SD, but it'd be awesome if everyone and their mother just picked up CLL and we made it onto one of Diamonds fancy lists. Here's the info again.

The codes are:
APR053349 CLL
APR053350 CLL incentive (this is for the retailer buy 2 get 1 free deal).

:: Google Me ::

As we creep closer to retailers ordering Catching Lucifer's Lunch I google the book now and again. I just wanted to post those I have found as a way to thank people for posting us.

Comics Continuum
Comic Monsters
Captain Comics #15
Estlin!Dammit! at MySpace
Comic Book Headlines
Zinester
Mile High Comics
Comic World News
Hartford.edu (this should be updated)
Toynewsi.com
buried.com (interview with T.J.)
comiclist.com

So... those don't all have to do with CLL, but they are indeed about us. There are a lot more out there too. If you have any interest in interviewing me regarding CLL, drop me a line. I'm not very picky when it comes to interviews, although this book shouldn't be targeted by kids. So! with that being said, please contact me. Thanks!

:: Catching Lucifer's Lunch Diamond Order # ::

So you would like to score a copy of Catching Lucifer's Lunch, but you don't know what page it is in Previews? I'll do you one better! Here's the page# and order #.

APRIL PREVIEWS
Page 326

APR053349 CLL
APR053350 CLL incentive (this is for the retailer buy 2 get 1 free deal).

What's that incentive you say!? It's a pretty sweet one. Let your retailers know about that so they can cash in on that bad boy. Why not just snag an extra two for the shop while they order your's???

Please urge everyone you know to pick up this book and remind their retailers about that deal. We're going to try and call as many as we can, but we need all of our friends and fans help. Thanks!

:: SEEKING PENCILS FOR NAWAIN PROPOSAL ::

We've been asked to put a proposal together for Narwain Publishing. My brother has done some work for them and I guess we've caught their eye with our two man power house team. Due to deadlines and work load we are seeking some help from artists again. If you would like to submit something to us, please email both of us and include links to your artwork. I would like to see 3-5 pages of inkable pencils. Please no attachments, they won't be viewed. Thanks!
:: LUCIFER IS GETTING BUZZED ::

Pretty cool to see that Catching Lucifer's Lunch is already getting buzz on the net. We popped up on this site that just gives our preview pages and our basic write up. In any event, it is cool to see. Anyone else interested in posting up links like that are greaty encouraged and appreciated.

:: ILL CONVEIVED 3RD PRINTING?? ::

Yep, we may very well have to go into a 3rd print run on Ill Conceived. I'm currently working on a new cover for that particular print run. We're pretty excited about its success and we hope to have even more success with CLL. When I'm done I'll post it up here so you can get a sneak peek. After the printing is done we should have plenty of CLL, IC and David Price to go around at the shows. I'm currently toying with the idea of doing $10 and $20 water color sketches. Anyone have any thoughts on that? I'll do my usually $10 robot pencils as well as my free-bee Barry and Leroy sketches in people's sketchbooks. I'll put some samples of sketch ideas once I'm done with the 3-4 books I'm laying out for the cons. Take care.

Friday, March 03, 2006

I had to bang out a sticker asap today to slap on some books. So I threw this together and sent it out to the printer. I'll hear back from the printer soon- I hope.
:: LIBRARIES AND GRAPHIC NOVELS ::

Short on cash? Need to read some graphic novels to keep up with all the hype? Go down to your local library and see if they carry any graphic novels or if they can order them. Odds are good that they have at least one. My local library has one large hard covered graphic novel. I plan on going down, as soon as my book is printed, and giving them a copy of Catching Lucifer's Lunch and asking if they are interested in starting a graphic novels section.

If you library doesn't offer a graphic novel section, please ask that they start one. I plan on donating my leftovers if my library is interested. I urge you to do the same. Most likely if they become popular the library will order more on their own. Once you've started getting graphic novels and realize what an awesome idea it was to do so, please urge your library to pick up a copy of Catching Lucifer's Lunch or any other work I've had a part in.

Most of my books are available through SUMM.net and CLL is available through the APRIL 2006 Diamond Previews and can most likely be ordered elsewhere via its ISBN 1-59975-353-7. If you're library would like to contact me I'd be happy to assist them in purchasing the book. I'll even check to see if I can offer them a discount. Thanks for all the support! And be sure to support your local library!

:: ADVERTISING AND THE LIKE ::

I was just sitting around updating SUMM.net and creating web banners for CLL. I'm also updating other pages on the site. I'll have a Diamond Order Code by the end of the week for CLL. We also have the ISBN# 1-59975-353-7. T.J. had a good time in NYC and I guess the con was pretty crowded. Check his post at out news page.

Here's one of the banners I'm working on. These will be part of our advertising campaign on digitalwebbing.com and if anyone else wants to copy and post them on their say, feel free. All advertising is good and we appreciate it.

:: OFF TO THE PRINTER ::

Catching Lucifer's Lunch has been sent to the printer (Quebecor) and I should have a proof in my hands in days. I'm pretty excited to see y work in graphic novel format.

In other news, I think I may be published in a "how-to" book about producing your own graphic novels. From what I understand it is going to be geared toward the indi-population and self-published fellows like myself. Hopefully you'll see a bunch of CLL artwork in there as well as various sketches from your's truly.

I will also be adding a press page to www.summ.net very soon that will provide information and images for interviews and articles that websites, newspapers and news stations can use. Stay tuned on that. Thanks to those of you supporting out books and my art.

:: DIAMOND DISTRIBUTERS PICKS UP MY BOOK! ::

Catching Lucifer's Lunch, which I painted, lettered and designed, has been picked up by Diamond Distributers and will be in the April 2006 Previews. It should hit the shelves in May 2006 when my second daughter is born. Pretty cool huh?

You'll be able to get more information regarding the book at www.summ.net as well as visiting out forum at chat.summ.net

I'd greatly appreciate anyone going out to their local bookstore and comic shop and ask for it by name and with the ISBN I will provide soon. Even if you just look at it, the word will spread or the book will be shelved amongst other great artists.

:: WHERE HAVE I BEEN? ::

Recently we sent our latest book, Catching Lucifer's Lunch, off to Diamond Distributers to see if they will carry our publication. We should hear about that soon. Keep you fingers crossed. After it gets accepted, we send the files off to Quebecor where Diamond will pick up it's share of book and shoot them out to the shelves (in May I believe). I'll keep you posted.

Other events in my life:

The second child will be coming soon (May). I recently acquired a part time job, which is cutting into my time with the family and my artwork and was greatly needed. On Saturday I plan on hopping in the water to do some surfing. If I get some picts this time, I'll post'em.

:: HAWK EYE COMMISSION ::

Here's a commission I did for Glen up at Incredible Pulp, Narragansett RI. That's my local shop. I like heading up there doing signings and picking up books. Head on down to Rt 108 and check them out in the far back of Mariner Square.

This is obviously Hawk Eye. I don't know a whole bunch about him. Hopefully he's relatively accurate. I picked up a few comics with him to get a feel and bam, here he is in all his water color glory.

If you want a commission, please contact me with your idea and I'll let you know if I can do it and give you a quote. Thanks!

:: WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! WHAT AM I DOING?! ::

Unfortunatly I was down with a stomache virus for the first full week of 2006! I was lucky enough to enjoy the ER and get pumped full of liquid and anti-nausa medication. But now! After one of the worst weeks ever, am back and ready for action. 2005 brought me hand surgery in the first week and I had a pretty good year. 2006 will bring me great rewards.

One of the great things I will be working on is a new story for SUMM Publications, called IS POLLY THERE?. Well, that's what its called now. I 'm currently 24 pages into sketching for it and may post some of them here if I like them enough.

I've also been lucky enough to start doing FLATS (color work) for some people I enjoy working with.

Catching Lucifer's Lunch (my first big book) will be published very soon and I will keep you posted. You'll be able to snag the ISBN number here and order from you favorite book stores (i hope!)

Sinn Fien (I did the letters and design) will be hitting the shelves in 2006. Straight from a new-ish publisher, Paper Dragonz.

Deviant Society??? Will 2006 be the year that Barry and Leroy rise up from the depths of the Brothers May's brains and stun the nation? Possibly. Those of you who have picked up A Day in the Psychosis of David Price have already tasted the sweet fruit of the deviants. Just imagine tighter artwork and a fabulous story line. It may happen. Stay tuned.

I'll be wet up at Wizard Philly, Wizard Boston and possibly Maryland. Not to mention other small venues in New England. I'll be walking around San Diego. Sure I'd still do a sketch if you recognize me and I have minute.

Just keep browsing here and at our forum at chat.summ.net (powered by digitalwebbing.com). Spread the word and help me and my family pay the bills. Heck! You like my work? email me and ask about commissions. I love doing commissions. People ask for the craziest stuff.

Okay that's enough ranting for now. You will hear more. Take care!
